Slows helped put modern Corktown on the map. It still deserves a seat at the table.
You cannot tell the Detroit 2.0 restaurant story without Slows. It was one of the places that gave people a reason to make Corktown the plan, and it became a destination for a reason. The hype may be bigger than any one plate, but Slows earned its place. Bring out-of-towners, bring friends, cover the table with barbecue and sides, and remember why this place mattered.
Bring a group, order more than one meat, load up on sides, and pass everything around. Then walk over to Sugar House and talk about what you should have ordered more of.
