Checker Bar

Checker Bar is another great Detroit dive: no pretense, all fun, a good crowd, and better bar food than it needs to have. It’s an easy place to finish the night, especially when the arcade upstairs is calling.

Get the bar food, then head upstairs for arcade games.

You want a casual downtown nightcap, good bar food, or a low-effort pre-show stop.

You want polished cocktails, table-service ceremony, or a quiet room.
